If you could guarantee improvement to one or two aspects of your game, what would they be?
Some of you probably said "strength" or "power" or "fitness." I'm guessing a lot of you said "speed" or "quickness." Others may have said "touch/dribbling/passing/shooting" or some other technical ability, and some of you might have said "confidence" or "decision-making" or something psychological/tactical in nature.

Let's take speed, for instance. If you're a midfielder, and you're automatically one step faster over ten yards, how many more balls per game would you win? Or how many opponents you could beat (or prevent from beating you)? How much more effectively could you close down the other team's players and disrupt their attack? How much more space could you create for yourself, making your touches, passes, and decision-making that much easier?
If you're a center-back and you could add 3-4 inches to your vertical jump, how many more headers would you win? How many more crosses could you cut out? How much more aggressive could you be with your positioning, allowing you to win more balls?
How much more confident would you be walking on the field every game? How much more attention do you think you would get from coaches (either your own, from whatever team you aspire to play on, or at the college or even professional level)?
Shortcuts
To be perfectly honest with you, improving athleticism is not easy. If you're looking for a shortcut to becoming an elite player, then sadly we do not know of such a program.
But we do have some good news. If you're willing to put in the time and effort, we can offer the shortest, most optimal route to improving your game and overall athletic performance.
And it's not some big secret either. It's the same way all professional and elite level players maximize their athleticism to get (and stay) at the top. They work one-on-one with knowledgeable and experienced strength and conditioning coaches, using a program specially customized to their individual strengths, weaknesses, body type, training schedule, injury history, playing style, and personal goals.
Working with an experienced trainer dedicated to you individually is the true secret. While you can find other workout programs online for considerably less (or even free), those one-size-fits-all approaches are almost never optimal for any individual athlete.
For instance, if you have a muscle imbalance that causes your knee to cave in slightly while squatting/lunging (something you'd probably be unable to notice), you'd need to correct this issue first before starting a program focused on intense plyometrics aimed at increasing explosiveness (something we'd all love to improve). Without knowledgeable oversight of a condition like this, you would be likely to injure yourself.
Not to mention, these generic programs have no idea about your body size/frame, workout history/experience, style of play, or a number of other factors need to create your ideal program.
